We cater for couples, families with children, groups and special events such as corporate outings and end of year parties. Our friendly staff serve a range of value-for-money local dishes such as curry, a selection of salads, and pizzas with a Mauritian twist.
Why pizza? As part of our sustainable mission, we recycle the non-native tecoma wood removed during the weeding process by using it to fuel our wood-fired pizza oven. Help us fight invasive species, one bite at a time by eating a homemade pizza. Proceeds from your purchases contribute to our conservation work.
No time to visit the whole site? Come for lunch and get free access to the museum.
We don’t offer plastic or paper straws. We believe that most people are fortunate enough to be blessed with the ability to drink directly from a glass. Let’s celebrate this by refusing THE STRAW!
You also won’t find any plastic drinks bottles at the restaurant or elsewhere on site. We serve filtered water only in glass bottles. All our brand name drinks are provided in glass bottles which are returned to the supplier. We wish to make your visit a little more ecological.
In case you were wondering, why Takamaka? Well Takamaka is the common name for Calophyllum tacamahaca, a slow-growing hardwood, endemic to Mauritius and Réunion. This spectacular tree produces a favourite fruit of the Mauritian Fruit Bat and we think they have pretty good taste in food!
